Journal Page
I had so much trouble with this one! As you can see from the earlier post (Frustrations) I was planning on collaging a drawing of mine of a tiger head. Then collaged bits of my papers, gave it a humanoid form. I did that but then started playing with the face, and eventually ended up with some sort of nightmarish creature.....kind of satanic apparition....O gosh, no way. I had to quickly (I thought) turn this creature into a gentler being....someone more like...us! So I corrected, pasted bits of paper over the mouth, modified nose, eyes, etc...for hours. Then today I continued to work several more hours. I decided to keep the ears. O well, I learned a few things along the way...good thing.

Frustrations
Again I did not work long enough in the studio so I have nothing finished...very frustrating...many interruptions, some created by myself...at least I did my running, in the cold, with 2 pairs of tights, 4 layers at the top, gloves, earmuffs, sunglasses. There was no sun but they protect my beady little eyes. So for your eyes only....lol....here are a few pictures of my feet ( the rest of me was there too...I think) actually in the studio and the preparations for a journal page. One paper done this afternoon specifically for this page.

Journal Page
On a watercolored background, I collaged a previous drawing of mine (young girl) in 2 different sizes. In the center I did a rub-on with Shiva paintsticks on deli paper and collaged it too.I used papers that I made the previous day along with snippets of other ones (hand painted, stamped, etc) for the dresses.Pitt pens, stamps, Stazon inks, acrylics.

I said "No"....Coconut said "Yes".....
We sat down for dinner and found Coconut installed for one of her cosy naps...on a pile of freshly ironed napkins! Our explanation did not seem to budge her so we gave in.....we are mere humans...she is a Cat, after all, and she remained convinced that this comfy pile had been prepared just for this purpose!

Tuesday Journal Page
Brrrrr......still quite cold here.
We got up early and went to the gym. I was happy to notice that it is a bit lighter now.Moving right along....towards Spring. I will wait until mid afternoon to go out and run!
The picture I took yesterday of my journal page did not come out well so just a moment ago I got out in the garden and took a few more shots.....brrrrr......better this time, better light.
I used a copy of my drawing for the bird, collaged some circles (magazines), shapes cut from my own papers, watercolors, a gold marker (Pen-Touch), distress inks, stamps and Stazon pads.

Gifts from Cocotte and Bleuette
Cocotte is French....nothing like a French hen...or wife...whichever you can acquire...
Bleuette is an Ameraucana......who has decided that she would not not comply with the laying of greenish/blueish tinted eggs as expected when I purchased her. (Maybe the plane trip disturbed something in there?..lol)
PS: The very dark eggs are from Cocotte ( Marans breed)

A Fistful of Dollars.....
I do not desire nor do I own any expensive jewelry. I delight in looking at my necklaces hanging on a Sumi brush hanger. Pure art.....By the way, I will allow myself the artistic freedom to revisit this theme later.
Being confronted with a rather dry spell of artistic inspiration these days I have to rely on these visual stimuli...."eye candy"!

A Taste of Morocco
On the menu tonight for our little dinner party a tagine dish from Morocco.
I like to make this one because it is totally delicious and easy to make.
It is a tagine of lamb with prunes (tagine bil Kok) with turmeric, ginger, saffron, honey, cinnamon and cilantro. From Cooking at the Kasbah by Kitty Morse.
I just received our new Emile Henry tagine (also the name of the casserole dish used to cook and present the tagine).
