Some Changes

I worked on her hair and added some sort of a border and played  with the colors here and there using brushes.
Steve does not care for the paler frame, I'm thinking he is right.

Photoshop Class: Work In Progress

Above the images I used. I made a brush (from a fireworks photo) and used it and the one I made earlier (passion flower brush) in many places. In progress.
I forgot I also used the woman in my banner.
I notice that I have distorted both the flower and the script....grrrrr.....I need to go back to that chapter...sigh...

First Step in Masks

Diablo floating in the skies hoping to catch a morsel...as the geese are flying by....
Moving right along in my class. This is the exercise in part 1 of "masking-blending images".
Well, not exactly "right along". Quite a bit of hair pulling, actually!

Worshop Exercise

This is my original photo for making the brush

I could not take a long time, so much to learn and stopped at this picture. Sorry for this white background, this is how it has been saved from Photoshop.

I took this picture (taken in January '08) and did most steps learned in the chapter on brushes including the saving of my new brush.....

...to get this one. Not looking to produce a masterpiece here but finish the exercise!
I finally succeeded in making my own brush and saving it after many attempts, extreme frustration and even a few tears, yeah, that's what it takes, blood, sweat and tears!
The brush that I made and used above was made using my photo of a passion flower and playing with it.Now I have to make a couple more brushes just to polish a litle my newly acquired "savoir"

Better Scanning: Old Journal Page

So much better....there is hope! So funny to read this old stuff. I was then mentoring Norma.
Today I spent hours (YES) trying to upgrade my PSE8 to plus!!! No need to go into details here but the action went through 6 times, yes, 6 times so you can imagine that between phone calls to Adobe, the bank, etc...I did absolutely nothing else....gggrrrr. I have to have "+" in order to properly follow my class.

Yay! My 1st scan.....

...after working for almost 2 hours....I know, I'm slow!....so many areas to study, so many help windows to open, so many words to read, explanations to decipher, etc....poor little brain!
This is a tiny drawing from an old sketchbook which I chose as my "guinea pig"

For the Beginning of this Decade

Realize that true happiness lies within you. Waste no time and effort searching for peace and contentment and joy in the world outside. Remember that there is no happiness in having or in getting, but only in giving. Reach out. Share. Smile. Hug. Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself.
