A view of the event.... One of my fierce competitors Oh, that felt good, right after the finish Waiting for the medals This one was taken back home, happy! This race was for a very good cause, the New Mexico Autism Society, their first annual race event.A very pleasant one, beautiful morning. Steve chose not to do it in favor of the Run for the Zoo next weekend. By the way, I think I was the only "skort" around! I have come to like running in one, very smooth, free running. I read somewhere that some guys really hate to be passed by a skirt! Yeah! I was hoping for 29' (after these long months recovering from injury) and so I was happy with my time of 28'13"!
Zsa Zsa is a top American hen, a white Leghorn Kocotte is French, a Marans Maggie is Dutch, a Welsummer Swazikette is American, a Rhode Island Red And Bleuette is an Ameraucana (origin South America) Zizou the little rooster is a bantam Belgian D'Uccle
A wrinkled egg....that is, an egg laid without its shell....don't know which one of the girls laid it. They are getting plenty of calcium so that is just a freak:)
I could not make any progress on the large painting from Jesse's workshop (utter frustration...I could have screamed...) so I went back to old pieces and reworked that one, what a difference! The colors of the finished one are softer than shown however. I went back to look at this picture and noticed that she seems to have a tear ....
It does not appear as if I have worked much but these changes are the results of hours of utter frustration....and some work! What I like best are the detail shots:(
It was a hard race in terms of terrain, basically a cross country type.......something I did not expect but I ran well with a time of 30'1". Awards to the first 8 runners so we went back home , no point in waiting in the cold and the wind! This is my first race in 11 months and I am so very happy: thank you Lord! Next race is May 3rd, "Run For The Zoo", a race I have never missed since I have been racing and one I definitively belong in, as you will, undoubtedly agree....:)
