I' m thinking I should lose a few pounds......maybe
As you can guess....the close-up is through the glass...sorry for the disappointment!
Show time; love birds I think
Looks like it could be a distant cousin to the road runner...would love to see him run....
The largest owl that we have on this planet...must ask Steve where is its habitat
Answer: this is an owl from Eurasia: Eurasian Eagle Owl

A Slightly Better Paper

Took the blue one from below printed with my stamps and overstamped with commercial stamps and glazed and glazed...and glazed .I am getting somewhere but obviously I need to spend some quality time in the studio...amateurish ! Funny thing is I will use tiny bits of it somewhere at some point .

Thinking of Papers

Going back to printing papers with my own carved stamps and commercial ones but nothing much to show, these are mid process. The upper left one is a rubbing with Shiva Paintstiks.I barely spent 1 hour: not serious!

A Healthy Breakfast

This morning I offered Miss Argiope a healthy breakfast: you know how we're supposed to eat more "greens" so I thought it applies to spiders too and hence this juicy green caterpillar....which I found eating the leaf of one of my petunias...Caterpillars, go ahead and eat my pretty flowers but be ready to become breakfast...or lunch...or snack...or
Notice the silk threads coming out to cocoon the caterpillar
OK, this will be the last one of these.....for now!

Bon Appetit!

May I introduce my friend Miss Argiope Aurantia as she just secured dinner , which I was only too happy to provide...since it is a big grasshopper that had been devouring my plants. I know I know I too can see its foggy little eyes through the thin silky veil saying "How could you?"..
My answer: easily!

Not Enough Bees to Go Around....

What to do? Well we have to pretend that we are bees...... Talking about my zucchini plant: I first collected pollen from the male flower with a cotton swab...easy....then applied as much of this beautiful golden powder to the lady-in-waiting :)...easy... and waited and later on......miracle of nature (with help from the gardener)
By the way I have not cooked it yet! Too precious.....LOL

That's yours truly by the pond...nature!

The New Banana Leaf and More...

It measures 25" long (a tad under 64 cms)...not bad! And then it was just gorgeous with the rain droplets ...or the water splash from the garden hose:) The bromeliad on the portal is stunning...the picture looks like a pottery chard. Finally I had to take a picture of this poor little creature inside a tropical waterlily trying desperately to get out...I feel that I am in the same kind of danger when looking closely at a waterlily from the side of the pond....

Quote That Appealed To Me Today

"The red rose whispers of passion, And the white rose breathes of love; Oh, the red rose is a falcon, And the white rose is a dove." - John Boyle O'Reilly

Zucchini Flowers, Datura and a Very Red Specimen

This is the male flower of the zucchini plant...the yellow flower for you folks who only know tall buildings, subway stations, metro and asphalt The sacred datura (the total length of the bud id 9" (some 20cms). I admired the tight bud top resembling the movement of the white robe of a whirling dervish! And finally why on earth did I buy and planted this fiery red canna...does not look great in the garden...mamma mia...practically vulgar!

Miscellaneous

There are the snails and then they are the grasshoppers.......check the damage on those leaves...hasta la vista, grasshopper! But the praying mantis I praise... The beetle I admire (because I do not know whether they do harm to MY plants)....

In Our Village (continued)

Seen and admired:
Donkeys for whom I have a great fondness,

Guinea hens, who annoy me with their high pitch cackles but their plumage is amazing....nice job with a delicate brush....pure example of pointillism.
